“If the path be beautiful, let us not ask where it leads.”
― Anatole FranceGoodreads
As I look down this forest path, I wonder where does it lead to and from whence did it begin? It is a rough looking pathway, yet it is intriguing to my imagination. I conjure up thoughts of woodland creatures that I might encounter along the trail.
There could possibly be danger lurking in the darkness ahead. Perhaps, the way is guarded by a large bear that is just waiting for an unsuspecting traveler to wander into its zone.
Then another part of my mind envisions a quiet brook that is flowing nearby the pathway. With the quiet woodland creatures scampering about as my feet move decidedly among the vegetation and undergrowth, I take to the journey at hand.
It is with these thoughts that I prepare for a nights slumber in the comfort of my home on this cold winter night. Perhaps I shall dream of this place and discover the destination of my travels.
Where do you envision this pathway leading? The poet says not to ask where it leads, but my curiosity cannot be contained, and so I will dream of unknown places tonight.
