Fooling Myself

Fooling Myself

Charlie knew it was foolish to cling to the idea that a vision could love him. She did though; she had too, in his mind’s eye it carried him through life. She was all that he wanted and more than he dreamed of. She was beauty and he was not. She was intellect and he was not. He was alive and she was not; for now. There had to be a way to become the love that she desired. Oh, if it were not for that thing called reality he could be happy. Alas, that was not to be; or was it?
