I’ve Been Adopted

(John 1:12) But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name: (KJV)

(Romans 8:15) For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father. (KJV)

8 things that should be produced after we have been adopted into the family of God.

  1. A likeness to God.
  2. Child-like confidence in God.
  3. A desire for God’s glory.
  4. A spirit of prayer.
  5. A love of peace.
  6. A forgiving spirit.
  7. A merciful spirit.
  8. An avoidance of ostentation. (pretentious and vulgar display, especially of wealth and luxury, intended to impress or attract notice.)

I was reading a story about adoption written on Adoption.com and I came across a quote that really tells what I believe to be true about my Heavenly Father.

Adoption revolves around sacrifice and selflessness.

Author:

Christian father, grandfather, teacher, author. Everyday we live our lives by faith. The question is this; Who or what is the object of our faith? I chose to put my faith in Jesus Christ on September 10, 2000. Since then my life has not been the same. There have been mountain top days as well as days spent in the valleys of life, but each of those days my Lord has carried me through. I am assured that God is for me. Psalm 56:9 When I cry unto thee, then shall mine enemies turn back: this I know; for God is for me. So, whatever you are facing today, you can have this confidence in the LORD. He is for you.
