Bible verses about Courage

  • Joshua 23:6
  • Psalm 27:14
  • Psalm 31:24
  • Proverbs 24:11-12
The Eagle maintains focus until it gets the results it is seeking.

1. Keep Focused on The LORD

Be ye therefore very courageous to keep and to do all that is written in the book of the law of Moses, that ye turn not aside therefrom to the right hand or to the left; Joshua 23:6

I believe that if I am to experience a courageous life then I need to keep my focus on the LORD.

There are many things that can cause a person to lose hope in any given situation. One of those is the realization that we often have in understanding that there are just some things that we cannot accomplish on our own. I had to come to the point in my life where I could admit to myself that there are just some things that I am not capable of doing on my own.

Sometimes we must ask for help

“(To the chief Musician for the sons of Korah, A Song upon Alamoth.) God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.”  Psalm 46:1 KJV

Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.

1 Peter 5:7

2. Don’t Be in a Hurry

Wait on the LORD: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the LORD. Psalm 27:14 KJV

While the world around us moves and hurries to find strength and satisfaction, we as believers find our needs met by the Lord Jesus Christ.

All of these can be found in abundance if we will trust in the author and finisher of our faith.

Hebrews 12:2 KJV
Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.

3. Be Hopeful

He is Risen. Three empty crosses.

Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which according to his abundant mercy hath begotten us again unto a lively hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead.

1 Peter 1:3 KJV

(1 John 3:1-3) KJV
Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God: therefore the world knoweth us not, because it knew him not.

Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is.

And every man that hath this hope in him purifieth himself, even as he is pure.

4. Be Confident in the Lord

Proverbs 24:11
If thou forbear to deliver them that are drawn unto death, and those that are ready to be slain;

Proverbs 24:12
If thou sayest, Behold, we knew it not; doth not he that pondereth the heart consider it? and he that keepeth thy soul, doth not he know it? and shall not he render to everyman according to his works?

God will make all things right in His time.

Things that worry me

  • Finances
  • School
  • Work
  • Family
  • Friends
  • Life in general

Don’t Worry

2 Samuel 22:7 In my distress I called upon the LORD, and cried to my God: and he did hear my voice out of his temple, and my cry did enter into his ears.

Psalm 55:22 Cast thy burden upon the LORD, and he shall sustain thee: he shall never suffer the righteous to be moved.

Author:

Christian father, grandfather, teacher, author. Everyday we live our lives by faith. The question is this; Who or what is the object of our faith? I chose to put my faith in Jesus Christ on September 10, 2000. Since then my life has not been the same. There have been mountain top days as well as days spent in the valleys of life, but each of those days my Lord has carried me through. I am assured that God is for me. Psalm 56:9 When I cry unto thee, then shall mine enemies turn back: this I know; for God is for me. So, whatever you are facing today, you can have this confidence in the LORD. He is for you.
